The Feaster Bunny

New Artwork by Chris Trefz, of The Feaster Bunny: Celebrating the Easter Holiday with a Horror Twist

Evil Easter Bunny art by Chris Trefz

Here's some new artwork taking a humorous horror twist on Easter's normally cute holiday mascot. Be sure to leave out a glass of milk and a plate of raw meat for the Feaster Bunny. Listen for his howls in the dead of night as he rampages from house to house leaving a basket of monster eggs for all the good little boys and girls. Happy Easter!

Here's a Short Story based on the artwork:

Once upon a "Feaster's Eve," a young boy named Tim lay awake in his bed, his eyes wide open in the late hours of the night. His heart raced with anticipation, for tonight was the night he hoped to catch a glimpse of the legendary Feaster Bunny.

Throughout the year, Tim had been extra good, and in preparation for the Feaster Bunny's visit, he had diligently left out the bunny's favorite treats: a plate of raw meat and a glass of spoiled milk. Tim had a special request in mind for the Feaster Bunny, as he had his eyes set on winning his school's monster battling tournament. He hoped to ask for a special monster egg that would hatch into a powerful creature, aiding him in his quest for victory.

As Tim lay in bed, his mind filled with thoughts of the Feaster Bunny and the monster egg, he suddenly heard a loud crash coming from downstairs. Curiosity took hold of him, and he couldn't resist investigating the source of the commotion.

With trepidation, Tim made his way to the dimly lit living room, only to discover that the front door had been knocked off its hinges. Muddy paw-shaped footprints led from the entrance, guiding him towards the kitchen.

In the kitchen, Tim's eyes widened as he beheld a massive furry figure, obscured by shadows in the dark room. The creature hunched over the kitchen table, producing chewing and slurping noises as it voraciously devoured the bloody treat and rancid milk left out for it.

A gasp escaped Tim's lips as he realized that he stood before the mythical Feaster Bunny. Its long, erect ears twitched, picking up on the subtle sound, and it ceased its feeding. Slowly, the creature turned to face Tim, standing at its full height, its long ears brushing against the ceiling.

Fear seized Tim, and he took a step back, contemplating the idea of running to his parents' room for safety. However, before he could act, the Feaster Bunny performed a single powerful hop, closing the gap between them in an instant.

Now, exposed by the faint light filtering in from the living room, Tim could fully make out the Feaster Bunny's terrifying features. It stood tall on its hind legs, resembling a distorted humanoid rabbit creature. Its ratty white fur was matted and stained with blood, and its long, sharp claws gleamed ominously. Its crazed expression and red eyes sent chills down Tim's spine. It possessed the front buckteeth of a rabbit, but its mouth and claws were splattered with crimson. In one hand, it clutched an Easter basket filled with painted eggs, some of them also tainted with flecks of blood.

The creature leaned in close to Tim's face, its rancid breath assaulting his senses. It began to repeatedly sniff him, making him gag at the putrid odor. Tim knew that the Feaster Bunny used scent to determine whether children had been naughty or nice throughout the year. If the judgment was in favor of being nice, the Feaster Bunny would leave behind the coveted monster egg. However, if deemed naughty, the Feaster Bunny would devour the child on the spot, consigning their soul to the underworld for eternity.

With a thunderous roar that sent droplets of spittle flying onto Tim's face, the monstrous bunny made its judgment. It reached into its basket, thrusting a large painted egg into Tim's trembling arms. With that, the Feaster Bunny turned and, with a mighty leap, crashed through the kitchen window, taking a part of the wall along with it.

Determined to see the Feaster Bunny off, Tim ran out the back door, clutching the egg tightly in his hands. The cool night air brushed against his face as he rushed into the backyard, his gaze darting from left to right in search of the creature.

A grunt and the sound of claws on tiles caught his attention. Tim looked up and saw the Feaster Bunny perched on the neighbor's roof, its silhouette standing out against the full moon's luminous glow. The white ball shone impossibly low and full, a magical spectacle befitting Feaster's Eve.

With a long, terrible howl that pierced the night, the creature leaped off the roof, disappearing into the darkness beyond. Tim stood there, breathless, gazing down at the egg cradled in his hands, vowing to never forget the incredible night he encountered the Feaster Bunny.

And so, with the memory of the fearsome creature etched in his mind, Tim pledged to nurture the egg and cherish the power it would bring. Little did he know that this encounter would mark the beginning of an extraordinary journey, one that would test his courage, friendship, and the very limits of his dreams.
